How to choose your ZENITH watch?

Four criteria guide your choice: collection, calibre, style and budget. ZENITH is built around three families: Chronomaster, for lovers of chronographs and watchmaking heritage; Defy, for avant-garde design and sport; Pilot, for aviation enthusiasts. Almost every model is powered by the legendary El Primero calibre, the world's first automatic high-frequency chronograph (5 Hz, 36,000 vph), invented at the Le Locle Manufacture in 1969. Styles range from the classic three-subdial chronograph of the Chronomaster Original to the gear-inspired geometric dial of the Defy Skyline. Prices span from €9,500 to over €25,000 depending on the collection.

The collection comparison helps to visualise price and profile benchmarks: the Chronomaster, a classic chronograph powered by the El Primero, suits the watch enthusiast and collector, from €9,500 to €25,000; the Defy, more sport-oriented with its El Primero 3620 calibre, targets a contemporary profile for €9,500 to €20,200; the Pilot, powered by the El Primero 4062, appeals to the aviation enthusiast for €10,700 to €12,800; and finally the G.F.J., fitted with the historic calibre 135, targets the collector seeking a rare piece, priced on request.

Which ZENITH watch for which profile?

  • Iconic chronograph / heritage → Chronomaster Sport
  • Classic elegance and triple calendar → Chronomaster Original
  • Vintage and retro spirit → Chronomaster Revival
  • Sport and geometric design → Defy Skyline
  • Aviation and big date → Pilot Big Date Flyback
  • Bold women's watch → Defy Skyline 36 mm, found in our ZENITH women's watches

The Auberi insight: on the Côte d'Azur, the Chronomaster Sport is our most-requested ZENITH, its El Primero tricolour dial works as well on a Monaco terrace as on a yacht; it features prominently in our ZENITH men's watches selection. The Defy Skyline appeals to a younger clientele drawn to geometric design and titanium finishes.

Frequently asked questions

What is the El Primero calibre?

The El Primero is the world's first automatic high-frequency chronograph, launched in 1969 by ZENITH. It beats at 36,000 vph (5 Hz), enabling measurement to 1/10th of a second. Almost every ZENITH watch uses a version of this movement.

What is the difference between the Chronomaster and the Defy?

The Chronomaster is a chronograph with a classical, heritage-driven character, available as Sport, Original, Open and Revival. The Defy features a more contemporary geometric design language, sport-oriented, with the Skyline (automatic or chronograph) and the Extreme (45 mm).

Is ZENITH officially distributed at Auberi?

Yes. Auberi is an official ZENITH retailer. All models are sold new with manufacturer warranty and certificate of authenticity. Our boutique in Saint-Laurent-du-Var lets you try in-stock references before purchase.

Can you dive with a ZENITH watch?

Most ZENITH models are water-resistant to 100 m, sufficient for swimming and water sports. The Defy Extreme reaches 200 m. For technical diving, other brands such as Tudor Pelagos are better suited.

What are the delivery times at Auberi?

In-stock models are dispatched within 24 h in mainland France. For special-order references, allow 2 to 6 weeks. Our customer service team is available Monday to Friday to guide you towards immediately available models.
