How to choose your Chronomaster Original?

The Chronomaster Original, part of the Chronomaster family, perpetuates the tri-compax architecture of the original 1969 El Primero: three subdials at 3, 6 and 9 o'clock, 38 or 40 mm case, sapphire case back and clean dial.

With 7 references, the range covers three main colourways (silver, mother-of-pearl, dark grey) and two sizes (38 mm for women/unisex, 40 mm for men). Does the Chronomaster Original look similar to the Sport?

Both are Chronomasters with El Primero tricolour dials, but they differ clearly: the Original (38–40 mm) has a more classic case with standard lugs and an interchangeable bracelet. The Sport (41 mm) has a more substantial integrated case, integrated bracelet and a dial optimised for sport performance.

What is an annual calendar?

An annual calendar displays the day, date and month requiring only one correction per year (at the end of February). It is more practical than a simple calendar (31 corrections per year) but less complex than a perpetual calendar (no corrections). On the Chronomaster Original, it is added to the El Primero chronograph without increasing the case size.

Is the Chronomaster Original 38 mm a women's watch?

ZENITH positions it as a unisex watch. Its 38 mm format suits feminine wrists as well as men who prefer smaller cases. Mother-of-pearl and guilloche versions lean more feminine; silver and anthracite versions are unisex in style.

Does the Original echo the A384/A385 designs?

The Chronomaster Original draws directly from the 1969 El Primero watches (A384 and A385) in its philosophy: three subdials, classic case, sapphire back. The Revival A384/A385 exactly reproduce the vintage aesthetic codes in 37–38 mm proportions. The Original modernises these codes in a contemporary case.

Can a Chronomaster Original be personalised at ZENITH?
