Description
Paying tribute to three generations of inventors (Léon, Gaston and Willy Breitling), the Premier Duograph, with its split-seconds function, demonstrates Breitling's watchmaking expertise. As Willy Breitling used to say, the Premier is “the undisputed mark of good taste”. This latest generation of Premier chronographs revives the timeless elegance of this model and offers Breitling's highest level of watchmaking thanks to the Premier's set of legendary complications: the Chronograph, the Duograph and the Datora. Fitted with rectangular chronograph counters, featuring a bi-compax chronograph look and Arabic numerals, the updated traditional Premier chronographs boast several refined design details such as grooves on the sides of the case, a sapphire crystal caseback and vintage-inspired hands. The Duograph is offered in two versions: in stainless steel with a blue dial and a golden brown alligator leather strap, or in 18-carat red gold with a black dial and a black alligator leather strap. The term “duograph”, used by Breitling in the 1940s, refers to the chronograph's split-seconds function. The rattrapante (from the French verb “rattraper”, to catch up) is one of the most elaborate watch complications there is. It is also one of the most difficult to make, alongside the tourbillon and the minute repeater. It makes it possible to measure two elapsed times simultaneously (intermediate times) using two hands at the centre of the chronograph. The Duograph is powered by the hand-wound, COSC-certified Breitling Manufacture Calibre B15. It combines two patented innovations, one simplifying the mechanism, the other improving precision.
