A 'Hublot moment' for Paolo Nutini and Jess Glynne, who were each presented with an iconic Classic Fusion model from the brand.
Hublot loves art and the world of music: as early as 2010, Hublot partnered with Depeche Mode for a charity concert at the Royal Albert Hall in London. In 2014, Hublot and Depeche Mode decided to collaborate once again by creating an exclusive series of 250 watches: the Big Bang Depeche Mode.
This year, the watchmaking brand Hublot and Depeche Mode are launching a new 'watch for water' at Baselworld. Hublot created this limited-edition watch to celebrate the band's new album, Spirit, and their upcoming world tour, the Global Spirit Tour. Sales of this watch will raise funds for charity: water, a nonprofit organization whose mission is to provide clean, safe drinking water to people in developing countries.
Thanks to close ties with the resort of Zermatt, Hublot—already a partner of the Tourism Office and owner of a chalet boutique at the foot of the Matterhorn—was proud to once again be a partner of the Zermatt Unplugged festival, held from April 4 to 8, 2017, in the famous Swiss resort. Hublot was keen to honor art in all its forms, including the art of music. The Zermatt Unplugged festival was thus another opportunity for the Swiss watchmaking brand to demonstrate its commitment to music.
It is indeed the festival in Switzerland where different musical worlds come together in one place, all within the same Valais atmosphere, surrounded by the Swiss mountains. An internationally renowned Swiss artist like Stephan Eicher, international artists such as Paolo Nutini, Jess Glynne, Nelly Furtado, Michael Bolton, and many others performed on the festival stage, alongside emerging talents seeking recognition from the public and their peers. The internationally established artists were able to support rising stars and offer them advice to help bring their music to a wider audience.
Each day, performers took to the 14 stages spread throughout the village and across the ski area, from noon to midnight. Zermatt Unplugged was therefore the ideal event to warm up after a great day of skiing in the Swiss Alps! Tales and legends abound in the region, and the story of the Big Bang Zermatt, created as a tribute to the resort, is no exception. If there is one object inseparable from the mountains, it is the rope. At the heart of the two Big Bang Zermatt models, issued in limited editions, the soul of the Matterhorn shines. Above the HUB4100 movement and between two sapphire crystals lies a piece of rope found on the Northeast Ridge of the Matterhorn, enhanced with the inscription 'ORIGINAL SEIL VOM MATTERHORN – 4320 HÖHENMETER.' The iconic silhouette of the 'Grand Pic' is engraved in a counter at 9 o'clock. Issued in 150 pieces in a tungsten case and 150 pieces in red gold, the Big Bang Zermatt features a ceramic bezel and sports a brown calfskin strap with beige stitching."
