The deep green dial evokes the atmosphere of Rikka, the seventh of Japan's twenty-four sekki or "seasons." Spring has passed, and the warmth of the sun's rays heralds the beginning of summer. Japanese plants take on a deeper shade of green and, as they grow, sway elegantly in the early summer wind. This is a modern reinterpretation of the famous 62GS from 1967, whose sharp edges and perfectly flat surfaces without distortion can only be created by Zaratsu polishing. The watch's wide dial opening has been achieved through a bezel-less construction, giving the 62GS a distinctive appearance on the wrist. This timepiece is powered by the Hi-Beat caliber 9S85, hand-assembled by the master craftsmen at Grand Seiko Studio Shizukuishi. The vivid green color evokes the gentle breeze that passes through the lush meadows near the Studio. The GS logo and seconds hand add a touch of gold color that complements the green backdrop of the dial.
