A classic Grand Seiko model with a dial that captures a precious moment in the Japanese seasonal calendar. This timepiece is a modern reinterpretation of the famous 62GS from 1967. The 62GS was the first Grand Seiko watch with an automatic movement and, like the 44GS introduced the same year, the first watch to express the “grammar of design,” the style that still shapes all Grand Seiko creations today. Like its predecessors, this modern reinterpretation features polished edges and perfectly flat surfaces that only Zaratsu polishing can create, as well as a very open dial, achieved through a bezel-less construction. The dial is inspired by the clear night sky, which the Japanese particularly enjoy during the Shūbun period, the sixteenth of the twenty-four sekki, or seasons, which marks the autumnal equinox. The golden Grand Seiko inscription and the seconds hand stand out against the dark blue dial, reminiscent of the moon and stars lighting up the night sky.
