Grand Seiko SBGH273 Watch

A classic Grand Seiko model with a dial capturing a precious moment in the Japanese seasonal calendar. This timepiece is a modern reinterpretation of the famous 62GS from 1967. The 62GS was the first Grand Seiko watch with an automatic movement and, just like the 44GS presented the same year, the first watch to express the “grammar of design”, the style that still shapes all Grand Seiko creations today. Like its predecessors, this modern reinterpretation features polished edges and perfectly flat surfaces that only Zaratsu polishing can create, as well as a very open dial, achieved through bezel-less construction. The dial takes inspiration from the sky clear nighttime, which the Japanese particularly appreciate during the Shūbun period, the sixteenth of the twenty-four sekki, or seasons, which marks the autumn equinox. The gold-tone Grand Seiko inscription and second hand stand out against the dark blue dial, reminiscent of the moon and stars illuminating the night sky.
