The very first Grand Seiko model, launched in 1960, owed its success to the excellence of its movement, knowing that it combined precision, functionality and comfort. The sober yet dazzling design characteristic of the Grand Seiko brand was then born. ot This SBGJ265 model is a modern reinterpretation of the 1967 model which chooses “Ever-Brilliant steel”, a material more resistant to corrosion and which has a whiter shine than stainless steel. The unique design of this model, the main feature of which is to have polished edges and perfectly flat surfaces that only Zaratsu polishing can create, is combined with a magnificent black dial pattern, 40mm in diameter, whose texture is inspired by the jagged contours of the slopes of Mount Iwate, a majestic mountain overlooking the Shizukuishi Grand Seiko Studio, where all Grand Seiko mechanical watches are manufactured. ot Powered by the 9S86 caliber, this sophisticated movement offers the same precision (+5 to -3 seconds per day) and the same power reserve (55 hours) as the 9S85 caliber on which it is based, while offering the GMT function including the Globetrotters need to ensure that the time displayed is correct and is not altered when time zones change.
