In 2025, the Maison Breguet celebrates an extraordinary milestone: 250 years of history, innovation, and horological craftsmanship. Over a quarter of a millennium, Breguet has established itself as an icon in the world of luxury watchmaking, embodying timeless elegance and technical ingenuity.

A House Founded by a Horological Genius: Abraham-Louis Breguet

Founded in 1775 in Paris, the brand owes its name to Abraham-Louis Breguet, a visionary inventor and master watchmaker. Among his numerous innovations that forever changed horological history are the tourbillon (patented in 1801), the Breguet overcoil, the subscription watch, and the shock protection system, a precursor to the modern anti-shock mechanism.

These inventions not only revolutionized 18th-century watchmaking but continue to inspire contemporary horological houses today.

A Special Anniversary Edition: The Classique Souscription 2025

To mark this 250th anniversary, Breguet unveils a modern reinterpretation of its historic subscription watch, originally introduced in 1796. Named the Classique Souscription 2025, this limited-edition piece pays tribute to the brand’s heritage while showcasing Breguet’s exceptional technical mastery.

Featuring a grand feu enamel dial, a single central hand, and a case made of 18K Breguet gold (a new alloy developed exclusively for this occasion), this watch captures the essence of luxury timepieces: refined, precise, and timeless.

A Global Exhibition: Les Tiroirs du Temps

As part of the celebrations, Breguet is launching a traveling exhibition titled Les Tiroirs du Temps. Through never-before-seen archives, historical timepieces, and interactive displays, the exhibition invites enthusiasts to rediscover key moments in the brand’s rich history.
