Santos de Cartier watch, large model, 1847 MC self-winding mechanical movement. Steel case, 7-sided crown decorated with a faceted synthetic blue spinel, gradient green dial, sword-shaped hands in polished steel and luminescent material, sapphire crystal. Steel bracelet with “Smartlink” sizing system. Second strap in green alligator, with interchangeable steel folding clasp. Both bracelets are equipped with the “QuickSwitch” interchangeability system. Case width: 39.8 mm, thickness: 9.38 mm. Water-resistant to 10 bar (~100 meters). 1904, Louis Cartier granted the wish of the famous Brazilian aviator Alberto Santos Dumont: to read the time in mid-flight. Thus was born one of the first wristwatches, sealing the friendship of two pioneers. Its dial with rounded corners, its harmoniously curved attachments, its visible screws are the hallmark of an iconic watch that will be the subject of multiple reinterpretations.
