A watch born of audacity

Launched in 1985, the Pasha de Cartier is the fruit of Cartier's creative audacity. Yet its origins go back much further, to 1932, when Louis Cartier is said to have imagined a custom-made water-resistant watch for the pasha of Marrakech, a great lover of swimming and luxury. While this original watch remains shrouded in mystery, it inspired the name and spirit of the Pasha we know today.

At the height of the 80s, the house of Cartier wanted to offer a model that would appeal to a dynamic, cosmopolitan and modern clientele, without sacrificing refinement. The Pasha quickly became the embodiment of assertive luxury, with a powerful, distinctive design.

A new crown: more precious, the new crown, hidden beneath the signature sapphire crown-cover, is also set with a blue spinel or sapphire.

A movement visible through the caseback: the transparent caseback reveals the Pasha's 1847 MC automatic caliber, made at the Manufacture in La Chaux-de-Fonds.

A new clapper in the form of a chain link connected to the crown, which opens onto a hidden, protected area for engraving initials.

A new interchangeable bracelet: steel, gold, leather, all versions can be interchanged thanks to an adaptation of the QuickSwitch system developed by Cartier, whose invisible mechanism blends into the architecture of the case. Located under the case, it is activated by a simple press.
